Poster Draft Due July 10th
On the morning of July 10th, Stephen will walk around asking about your posters to see how they're coming. At this point, they should be mostly done with text and layout and colors chosen, but perhaps with final results or images still pending.
Here are the guidelines from the Word doc on
the Research Symposium page.
- Large Printed Poster – using PowerPoint , print out an oversized poster sheet
- Posters must be able to “stand” on a regular easel. If you print out a large poster sheet, make sure you affix it to a sturdy poster/foam board for the presentation day. Pam will provide foam and easel.
- Poster Size – 24” x 36” – (at least 2’ x 3’ for large printed poster) - you can do Portrait or Landscape
- This is a visual summary of your project.
- Title – keep it short in length and large in size. Something to grab someone’s attention. You want to get them to stop and read your entire poster.
- Visuals – use graphs, charts, pictures, bullet listings, etc. Something to break up the text!
- Text – keep it brief – problem statement and results are critical components.
- Use consistent fonts and colors – too many can be distracting.
- You will be given a payment voucher with credit for one 2’ x 3’ to Printing Services (for printed PowerPoint poster).
Other guidelines from Stephen:
- You need to use the ISU logo somewhere. Logos here
- You need to use the NSF logo somewhere. Logos here; "Version 2" is the classiest to me, but others might fit your look better.
- You need to have this text somewhere:
