Short Bio
Janea Triplett is a doctoral student in
Human Computer Interaction at
Iowa State University. In the early 90s, she stumbled into Web design and was immediately hooked by the potential of the Internet. A decade later, she returned to school to pursue studies in anthropology, business, language, and sociology.
As a volunteer consultant, she has worked in Africa and southeast Asia on systems design and small business development projects. Her research interests include social networks, assistive technology, geographic information systems, and technology and social change. Her personal interests have included everything from biking to glass blowing, from hiking to knitting, and from motorcycle riding to bread baking. Her most recent distraction is
foraging.
